I caught the fish yesterday. I caught 4 snowy groupers in the same area that weighed in at 24-27# so I knew that there would be a shot at the world record of 28#. Snowy grouper live in very deep water (400-800ft) so you don't hear much about them. I fish for them because they are the best eating fish in the ocean. They average 6 to 15 pounds. I caught this one in 750ft, about 16 miles south of Key West. It weighed in at 29 pounds.
