VENISON AHEAD—Charles
J. (Slim) Turner of Rock Falls is
shown with a 200-pound deer
he shot Thursday on the opening
day of deer season. He started
hunting at 9 a.m. and made the
kill shortly after noon about four
miles west and a mile south of
Northwood in Worth County.
Turner bagged the deer with a 16
gauge shotgun at about 100 yards while shooting from a tree. He also shot
a timber wolf in the
same area. His clean-up job will
include getting the blood off his
car.
